Charles Towne Center Natatorium

St. Charles Towne Center is a two-level, enclosed shopping mall in the planned community of St. Charles in Waldorf, Maryland. Built in the late 1980s, it covers an area of 980,418 sqft and is currently the only regional mall in Southern Maryland.

This design involves adaptive re-use of the Sears retail space on the southwestern side of the mall, which has been vacant since 2020. The existing building will accommodate a first-class natatorium on the lower level and house a variety of non-aquatic recreation functions on the upper level.
